Following her son’s diagnosis with autism at age 3, Mel started her learning journey to support, encourage and empower his neurodiversity. Through this, Mel has realised how important childhood development is and how parents have such a huge impact and important role in raising confident, capable and resilient children. She strongly believes that a gentle parenting approach is the best way to support our neurodiverse children in living their most fulfilling lives.
Mel is a firm advocate for psychoeducation and using this to empower our children as well as support parents in maintaining a secure attachment. She believes that understanding the sensory system is extremely important to understanding our neurodiverse children. Mel has her Bachelor degree in Psychology and Diploma of Counselling.
