Mya McCormick
Therapeutic Support/ Early Childhood Educator

Background

I have three years of experience in early childhood education, where my passion for supporting younger generations began. I thrive on helping children reach their milestones and teaching them essential life skills. My commitment to making a positive impact drives me to be the voice for those who may not have one for themselves. I pride myself on being a fun and caring individual, always ready to lend a helping hand and create a supportive environment for those in need. I look forward to continuing my journey in support work and making a difference in the lives of others.

Special interest and hobbies

Outside of work, I love to stay active through Pilates and enjoy moving my body. My two beautiful dachshunds, Slinky and Wood, accompany me on daily walks and weekend adventures, bringing so much joy to my life. I also have a deep love for cooking and exploring new restaurants, always on the lookout for the next culinary experience (my favourite cuisine is Japanese!!). Spending quality time with loved ones as much as I can. In my downtime, I enjoy listening to podcasts, which inspire and entertain me. I'm excited to continue my journey in social work while embracing my passions!

Therapeutic approach & demographic

My therapeutic approach is centered on empathy, active listening, and building strong, trusting relationships. I believe in empowering individuals by providing them with the tools and skills they need to thrive. I work primarily with children and their families, focusing on their unique needs and strengths to support resilience and growth.
